Best on a desktop or tablet

The typing games need a physical keyboard and more room than a phone screen gives, so we've left this one out rather than serve you a version that fights you.

Everything else works fine here — read the guides, or browse the Kedmanee keyboard reference.

About Thai falling words

Falling Words is an arcade take on Thai typing: words drop down the track and you clear them by typing them before they reach the line at the bottom. You have three lives, and every word that lands costs one. Typing a word's first character locks onto it, so when several words are on screen at once you pick your target simply by starting to type it.

The words fall under gravity rather than at a fixed speed — they start from rest and accelerate, so a word you ignore while it is high becomes urgent quickly. The pressure ramps with your score: the acceleration increases and new words spawn more often, so the run ends when you reach your limit rather than when a timer expires. Your score is simply the number of words you cleared.

The word pool is the same frequency-ranked Thai vocabulary used across the site, so you drill the words you will genuinely type most. It is the most demanding of the three games. The speed test measures a steady minute and the race rewards one clean run, but falling words forces you to read Thai and type it without hesitating, because the deadline is visible and moving toward you.

Tips for a higher score

  • Clear the lowest word first — it is the one about to cost you a life.
  • The first character locks your target, so begin with the word you actually mean to clear.
  • Words accelerate as they fall, so deal with them high up while they are still slow.
  • A mistyped character costs nothing, so it is always worth attempting a word rather than freezing.

FAQ

How do I choose which word to type?

Type its first character. That locks onto the lowest word starting with that character — the most urgent one — and the rest of your keystrokes go to it until it is cleared.

Do the words fall at a constant speed?

No. They fall under gravity: they start from rest and accelerate, and the acceleration itself increases as your score climbs. A word crosses the track in roughly six seconds early in a run, and in under three seconds once the difficulty caps out.

What happens if I mistype a character?

Nothing is lost. A mistyped character does not cost a life or reset your score — only a word reaching the line at the bottom costs one of your three lives.

Do I need an account to play?

No. The game is free, runs in your browser, and your best score is saved on your device. A free account is only needed to post a score to the global leaderboard.
