About achievements
There are six achievements, and the names on this page are the real ones from the trainer: Warming Up at a lifetime best of 30 WPM, Quick Fingers at 40, Speed Demon at 60, Dedicated for a seven-day streak, Wordsmith at 1,000 characters typed, and Regular at 50 practice sessions. Each badge is a predicate on a signed-in snapshot — best WPM, current streak, session count, and character total.
Unlocking happens on the main trainer after you sign in. Practice samples flush to your account about every fifteen seconds with characters, time, WPM, and accuracy; the server then re-runs the six predicates and stores any new ids. A toast reads "🏆 Warming Up unlocked" (or whichever English title). This page always lists every badge; the ones you hold appear on your profile. Guests do not earn them.
Dedicated is seven consecutive calendar days — missing one day drops the streak, and seven sessions in a single afternoon do not count. Wordsmith counts characters, which is the right unit for Thai because there are no spaces between words. Regular is fifty recorded sessions on that same trainer. The 60-second speed test and the paste-your-own-text page keep their own timers and do not write these totals.
How to actually unlock them
- Sign in before a practice session. Achievements are evaluated from cloud progress, not from visiting this page.
- Warming Up, Quick Fingers, and Speed Demon use your lifetime best WPM. A later slower day does not lock them again.
- Dedicated needs seven calendar days in a row. One missed day resets the streak; stacking sessions on one day does not skip ahead.
- Wordsmith and Regular count characters and sessions on the main trainer only. Paste-your-own, the speed test, and the games do not add to those totals.
FAQ
How do I earn achievements?
By practising on the main trainer while signed in. The six badges are Warming Up (30 WPM), Quick Fingers (40 WPM), Speed Demon (60 WPM), Dedicated (a 7-day streak), Wordsmith (1,000 characters), and Regular (50 sessions). Each one is checked against your saved stats after a session sample is recorded.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Guests can practise, but achievements are stored per signed-in user and shown on your profile. Sign in first if you want the badges to persist.
Why use achievements at all?
Typing Thai improves slowly, and it is easy to quit before 30 WPM feels normal. A named threshold — Warming Up, then Quick Fingers — gives a short session a reason to exist, and Dedicated is specifically a reason not to skip a day.
I typed 30 WPM on the speed test. Why don't I have Warming Up?
Warming Up reads your lifetime best WPM from signed-in samples on the main trainer. The 60-second speed test and the paste-your-own page run a separate timer in the browser and do not write that total. Hit 30 WPM on the homepage trainer while signed in, and the toast will fire.
