About the daily Thai typing challenge

The daily challenge gives every typist the same Thai passage for the day, drawn from a tokenised corpus of real Thai sentences plus a growing pool of reviewed passages. Because the passage is selected from a fixed date seed, everyone who visits on the same day practises the identical text — so the leaderboard compares like with like.

Type the passage on the trainer in Daily mode and your result is scored in net words: the words you typed, minus a penalty for errors, divided by your time. That rewards accuracy as much as raw speed — a fast run full of mistakes will not beat a steady, clean one. The board resets at 00:00 UTC, so there is a fresh race every day.

The challenge is a low-pressure way to build a daily habit. One short passage a day is enough to keep the Kedmanee layout in muscle memory, and watching your net-word score climb week over week is a clearer signal of progress than any single fast run.

How it works

  • A new passage appears every day at 00:00 UTC.
  • Open the trainer, choose Daily mode, and type the passage.
  • Finish a Words or Sentences run to post a score.
  • Sign in if you want your handle to appear on the public board.

FAQ

Where do the daily passages come from?

Each day's text is selected from a tokenised Thai corpus and a pool of human-reviewed passages, using the date as a seed so the choice is the same for everyone and changes once per day.

What does 'net words' mean?

Net words is the number of words you typed minus an error penalty, divided by the time taken. It is the score the leaderboard ranks, and it rewards accuracy, not just speed.

Do I need an account to take part?

You can type the passage without signing in, but you need a free account for your result to appear on the public daily leaderboard.

When does the leaderboard reset?

Every day at 00:00 UTC. Each new day brings a new passage and a fresh board.
